LA-BASED ELECTRO-ROCK/PRODUCER PROJECT, BATTLE TAPES ANNOUNCE TEXTURE

Acclaimed Los Angeles-based Battle Tapes craft electronic rock that blends 80's electronica and darkwave with the poppiest and most accessible of what Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails are set to release their new album Texture.

Battle Tapes have been featured on various movie trailers, TV shows and, video games, including ‘Girls’ (HBO), Grand Theft Auto V (Rockstar Games), ‘Mr. Robot' (USA), ‘League of Legends Championship Trailer’ (Fox Sports) and ‘gEN Lock’ (HBO) ‘Invincible’ (Amazon).

Songwriting/production duo Josh Boardman and Riley Mackin spent the better part of 2018 in the studio on various projects, including Childish Gambino (Mackin mixed and recorded Awaken My Love, and recorded “This is America”), before turning focus back to their own creative outlet and beginning work on a follow up to 2017’s Form EP.

Formed in 2010, the band cite Depeche Mode, Massive Attack, Soulwax, The Prodigy, and Daft Punk as primary influences, which plays into their meticulously programmed live show and cross-genre style. Their first output arrived in the form of the 2012 with their debut EP, featuring the hit single "Feel the Same," prominently featured in the popular video game "Grand Theft Auto V," which garnered critical acclaim and helped them secure a loyal fanbase. Their subsequent releases, including their first full-length album "Polygon" (2015) and the EP "Form" (2017), in addition to remixes for Childish Gambino and Phantogram, cemented their reputation as one of the most exciting bands in the genre, earning them appearances at major festivals and sharing the stage with the likes of AWOL Nation, Imagine Dragons, Elohim, and Mother Mother. In 2022 they release two singles “If Only” and “In Too Deep” to much fanfare. Increasing fan excitement for their highly anticipated second album, "Texture."
