Jazz Saxophonist, Courtney Fadlin Poised to release two titles December 2nd, 2017
New York November 28, 2017, On December 2, 2017, Jazz Saxophonist, Courtney Fadlin will launch two titles, “Still Standing,” which is of a contemporary jazz genre, and “Hymnology 2,” which features a simplistic traditional approach to known hymns.
Both titles are follow-ups to previous releases by Mr. Fadlin. “Still Standing,” is a follow up to the “Still Standing,” EP, which was released in September 2016, featuring the songs, “Standing On The Promises”, “Total Praise”, and Come Thou Fount”. Now, the full-length album of the same title features eleven songs. “Hymnology 2”, is part two of Courtney’s Hymnology series. The first part was released in 2006, where the makeup of the music primarily featured the Sax and Piano. Now “Hymnology 2” is here, and features ten Hymns that are well-known favorites.
Producers and arrangers on both projects include Alex Martin-Blanken, Sheldon Palmer, Samuel Archer, Jon Williams, Raymond George and Courtney Fadlin himself.
Short Biography:
Over many years, Guyanese-American saxophonist Courtney Fadlin has developed and mastered a style of his own. He has influenced many of today’s up and coming artists along the way with his signature style and silky smooth delivery. Affectionately known as “The Saxman”, Courtney continues to redefine his undeniable sound and texture.
Inspired by his father, Jethro Fadlin Sr., an acclaimed musician in his own right, Courtney watched his father at various performances while growing up. It wasn’t long after that that his tutelage began. Courtney also credits Grover Washington Jr. as one of his major influences. This influence led him to Berkley College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Professional Music. He went on to the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, where he pursued his Masters in Saxophone Performance. He has also mastered the clarinet and flute.
Courtney has shared stage with the industry greats such as Ben Tankard, Hubert Powell, Melba Moore, Take Six, Freddie McGregor, Jamaican Reggae Band, Culture, and Legendary jazz drummer, Louie Bellson.
