Bebe is known throughout the world for their cutting edge fashion, fit, flair and beautifully stylish line of clothing. For their Spring 2012 line, they truly rocked the runway in a unique and dramatic manner with their feature of all white beauty spring dressing. That’s right, they went in a completely different direction with stark white and hues of soft ivory and their line was received with open arms and immense applause.
Romance meets sexy in sheer fabrications and fitted silhouettes. Scalloped details, flouncy dresses and skirts and a-line fits were part of the theme. The puffy sleeves with back buttons and zips are true 1920’s classic demure beauty meets the overtly sexy woman of 2011. Tier styling, pleats, cutouts, and baby doll dresses with multi fabric trim were truly romantic and soft. Paired with lace front boots with wooden heels and ivory platform pumps, the look overall was impressive. Eyelets and lace were everywhere.
What really stood out in this line was the extreme level of attention to detail. The classic all white suit, for example experienced a new spin with a deep and sexy open front top featured under the blazer. The cut of their suiting was exceptional; close to the body and exuding sleek and long lines. Paired with a small clutch this was a very elegant and well put together look that could go from the office to a cocktail party with ease.
Oversized totes were not just beautiful and completed the look overall, but certainly usable for the everyday woman that travels with it all. These totes could easily go from business to the beach without skipping a beat.
Bebe’s one piece pleated tube ruffled romper was beautiful elegance at its finest, while conveying the style and elaborate grandiosity that we have come to expect from them. The one piece short versions that followed were just as elaborate, romantic and fun and offered in two lengths; right above the knee and for those more daring, mid thigh. The cuts and lines of their clothing delivered to truly accentuate women’s attributes.
They took a classic linen suit and gave it a more tailored and structured feel for the pant while cutting the jacket at the waist and adding some shape for volume. The sheen finish see in many of their fabrics truly gave a day to night feel while reveling in simplicity and glamour. Their multi level tiered dress was simply fabulous and would look good on just about any body type, especially paired with a bold belt, high at the waist.
Bebe truly captured the beauty and feel of the season of spring overall. Awakening to a new warmth and light is what seems to have been the motivation behind their line and they portrayed the essence of it well in all of their looks. Bravo!
