Itʼs clear that song writing is passionate for Nikki Jean. Sheʼs schedule to release her debut album “Pennies in a Jar,” July 12th 2011. The S-Curve artist started the making of this album approximately three years ago, collaborating with songwriting greats such as Bob Dylan, Carole King and Burt Bacharach amongst many other song writing greats appearing on the album. The album also features Lupe Fiasco and Black Thought (Of the Roots).

It was her producer Sam Hollander with the vision to let Nikki embark on this amazing journey. Mr. Hollander has also produced Tom Jones, Train and Katy Perry.

“It feels amazing to make an organic record that also honors people who wrote many of the songs that helped shape popular culture,” she says. “Hopefully, Iʼll get to have the experience of people falling in love
with my songs too.” Nikki Jean.

Nikki hails from Minnesota, now based in Philly. She started taking piano lessons at age eight. Today she thinks she should be so much better and claims she wasnʼt diligent as she should have been (See video
interview). Her singing inspirations come from Diana Ross and Sam Cook. Nikkiʼs voice can be heard on Lupeʼs “Hip Hop Saved My Life.”

Last month Nikki shared stage with “Train,” at New York Cityʼs Webster Hall. Her connection with the audience was excellent. She accompanied herself by playing her keyboard and she played the ukulele in one of her selections called “La Dee Da Dee Da.”(Written by Luigi Creatore & Nikki Jean) The show was sponsored by Origins ʻRocks Earth Month.ʼ http://nikkijeanmusic.com/.
